News|Equus comes to AberdeenBetween March 31st and April 5th this year, Aberdeen hotel visitors will be able to see Equus, the play that caused a sensation when it opened with Daniel Radcliffe in the leading role. Alfie Allen, son of actor Keith Allen, now stars in the show, alongside theatre great Simon Callow. Equus involves Martin Dysart, a psychiatrist who is presented with a challenging and disturbing case by a magistrate. Dr Dysart is given the task of curing Alan Strang, a 17-year-old stable boy with a pathological obsession with horses. The play caused something of a stir when it opened in London, as a result of its controversial subject matter and scenes of nudity. Aberdeen hotel visitors will be able to see Equus at His Majesty's Theatre at Rosemount Viaduct, with locations including Newcastle, Cardiff and Bath also on the show's UK tour schedule. |
