Nestled in beautiful Edgbaston, England, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens is one of the most charming tourist destinations in the city. For those interested in making a complete Birmingham sightseeing tour, this picturesque park should definitely be included on the list of places to visit in Birmingham.  This beautifully designed park is covered in lush greenery and is an ideal location to spend a memorable day out with all members of the family.

This airy park is open to the public during every day of the week and is a much favoured venue where locals spend hours breathing in the fresh air and enjoying its rejuvenating green surroundings. The gallery at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens is arguably the most popular feature of the park, which attracts the attention of each and every visitor. As this section of the park was opened over two decades ago, it showcases an impressive variety of paintings related to nature at any given month. The collection is refreshed on a monthly basis, which always keeps even the regular visitor interested.

The Four Glass Houses at the park feature a variety of plant species from around the world. The Tropical House is home to a range of plants which have adapted to life in wet and humid conditions. The Subtropical House, the largest glasshouse at the park, features plants such as fern species and palms.

Designed quite similarly to an orangery, the Mediterranean House is a traditional style glasshouse where one can find several citrus varieties. At the Arid House visitors will find cactuses and other similar plants, which grow in dry weather conditions when rainfall is quite scarce and every drop of water is stored carefully.
