News|Harlem Globetrotters to make Cardiff appearanceHarlem Globetrotters will be appearing at the Cardiff International Arena on June 6th aiming to keep their impressive record intact - since their founding in 1926, they have won 23,300 games and lost just 345, WalesOnline.co.uk reports. News of the Globetrotters' arrival has been welcomed by Alun Rees, head of The Barry Huskies, the oldest basketball club in south Wales. He told the website: "The Globetrotters were on TV about twice a year and that was the only basketball you saw [in the 1960s]. "The skill level compared to what we were doing at the time was amazing." Mr Rees went on to say that the Globetrotters were instrumental in building basketball's popularity, with a sell-out crowd expected at the summer event. Earlier this month, the Globetrotters became the first professional basketball team in history to play a match on ice. Book your stay at Copthorne Hotel Cardiff
