News|Nuptial plans in focus in DudleyEngaged couples and family members looking forward to a wedding can book a room in a Dudley hotel and visit an extensive wedding fair in June. The Wedding Fayre will take place on June 8th and cover everything that soon-to-be married couples could want, from the dresses and decorations to the cakes and corsages. Dudley hotel visitors will find this event at the Red House Glass Cone, a busy heritage site that hosts exhibitions, children's activities, tours and live glassmaking shows. The cone is a core part of the Stourbridge glassmaking industry and was used for the manufacture of glass between the end of the 18th century and 1936. It is now one of only four cones left in the United Kingdom and reaches 100 feet into the air. Another establishment that explores Dudley's association with the glassmaking industry is the Broadfield House Glass Museum, which boasts a collection of British glass dating back to the 17th century. |
