Dudley hotel guests will be able to visit a special exhibition this year that celebrates one of the town's most famous sporting sons.

A display paying tribute to former Manchester United captain Duncan Edwards will be launched at Dudley Museum and Art Gallery on January 19th.

Edwards was killed in the Munich air disaster in 1958, which took the lives of 20 of the 44 people onboard an aircraft that was attempting to take off from Munich-Riem airport in Germany.

The exhibition will feature a wide selection of memorabilia offering an insight into the player's life and career.

It will also include information on Joe Darby, the noted long-jumper who was originally from Dudley.

People planning Dudley hotel breaks will be able to see the display throughout the year.

Also set to open at the museum this year is Dudley UnEarthed, an exhibition that explores the geology of the region and its relation to the industrial revolution.
