This breathtaking informal landscape garden was laid out by Capability Brown in the 18th
century, and the park was further enhanced during the 20th century by its owner Arthur G. Soames.
Today it is managed by the National Trust. Located close to the
Sheffield
Park Garden is the Sheffield Park House, a Gothic country house which is beautifully preserved.
The centre piece of the park is undoubtedly the chain of lakes. The garden’s original design
was one of trees, lawns and two serpentine lakes; however this design has been modified and today
it includes a chain of five lakes and cascading waterfalls.
This 120 acre parkland is best seen during spring when they are a kaleidoscope of colour with
daffodils in full bloom and narcissus and azaleas also joining in. The autumn months also bring
with it a spectacular display of natural beauty as the earthy brown and orange hues of the leaves
create an amazing transformation of the park’s trees. Located near Haywards Heath in East Sussex
this beautiful parkland is easily accessible from the
Copthorne Hotel
Effingham Gatwick which provides you with convenient

Gatwick Airport. This well-appointed hotel provides an array of amenities and gracious
