News|New routes see Gatwick hotels accommodating Asian travellersIn a drive to boost traffice between the UK and Malaysia, the Asian airline has announced the new route, which will give travellers the benefit of connections to other areas of south-east Asia, including Thailand and Indonesia. AirAsia X will now fly five times each week to the Malaysian capital, with that number increasing by an extra flight by the middle of December. Gatwick has in the past been underserved by Long-haul routes to south-east Asia, but this announcement will go some way to alleviating the strain on its existing flights. “Gatwick offers an attractive proposition to airlines and their customers," said Guy Stephenson, Gatwick Airport’s commercial director.
