The Brighton Pavilion or as it is officially known the Royal Pavilion is a delightful potpourri of architectural and design styles from all over the world. The Brighton Pavilion was built during the early 19th century as a seaside retreat for the Prince Regent as his physician advised him that seawater would be beneficial to his health.

The most striking feature of this former Royal residence is its unique architecture; built in an Indo-Saracenic style that was popular in India during the time, the Royal Pavilion brings with it plenty of exotic flair. Despite the heavily Indian inspired exterior, the interior design and decorations are of a distinct Oriental flavour. This is evident in the bamboo staircases, the gilded dragons and the exquisitely carved palm trees inside the pavilion.

There are many places to explore inside the Brighton Pavilion; the Banquet Hall has one of the most elegant interiors of the entire residence, the walls are adorned with Chinese and French paintings with dragons on the chandeliers. The Music Room is lit by lotus shaped chandeliers and the high domed ceiling is heavily decorated with artwork. Located close to the Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick, a hotel in Brighton UK, the Brighton Pavilion is a not to be missed attraction for tourists.
