Manchester's Bridgewater Hall will present the popular BBC Philharmonic Family Concert next month.

The event will have a 'spring' theme and will be hosted by Matt Baker, a familiar face to many following presenting jobs on programmes including Blue Peter.

Manchester hotel guests who make it to the show on March 14th will be treated to live renditions of several well-known pieces of music, including Spring from Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Tchaikovsky's Valse des Fleurs from The Nutcracker.

Comedy fans will also be able to hear a performance of the theme tune from The Simpsons.

A number of activities will be arranged in the Bridgewater Hall before and after the concert, including an event encouraging people to eat healthily by growing their own vegetables.

The Bridgewater Hall will present many other live concerts for Manchester hotel guests to attend over the coming months, including a show by the Halle Orchestra on March 18th featuring pieces by Chopin, Sibelius and others.
