Manchester hotel guests will have the opportunity of seeing one of the world's biggest rap artists when tickets for his gig in the city go on sale this week.

Jay-Z will perform at the Manchester Evening News (MEN) Arena on Monday, June 7th, with tickets going on sale on Friday (February 19th) for £42.50 and £49.50.

It will be the first time the US rapper plays Manchester since July 2008's appearance as part of his American Gangster tour.

Fans can expect tunes from The Blueprint 3, his latest album, including hits Run This Town and Empire State Of Mind, which features singer and songwriter Alicia Keys.

His new tour comes on the back of winning three Grammy's earlier this year in Los Angeles and securing Best Urban Act at the MTV Music Awards.

The former boss of Def-Jam and Roc-A-Fella Records financed his debut album, Hard Knock Life, which went on to sell eight million copies.

Following Jay-Z's gig, Cirque Du Soleil will begin a summer residency at the MEN Arena.
