Civil Ceremony
The Copthorne Hotel Plymouth has the pleasure of offering a civil marriage
and partnership ceremony license within the hotel. More and more couples now choose to get
married and hold their celebration within one venue.
We offer a private room whereby the registrar can perform the legal requirements prior
to the ceremony itself. Our suite will be set to your requirements with red carpet laid on the
aisle.
You will need to book the registrar direct, this can be done up to twelve months prior to your
wedding. To arrange this you will need to call the registry office to arrange an appointment.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all legal preliminaries for your wedding ceremony are
completed and that the registrar officers are available to conduct the ceremony.

Capacity
The Copthorne Hotel Plymouth is able to accommodate approximately one hundred and twenty
guests for the wedding breakfast and two hundred and twenty guests during the evening
reception. (Subject to room layout and availability).

Centre Pieces
If you are supplying centre pieces, please ensure these are delivered to the hotel
one day prior to your wedding day, unless a supplier has requested otherwise.

Table Plan
Our tables can seat between 6 – 12 guests. We can provide a complimentary table
plan and place cards for the day. If you would like these to be provided, please provide a full
list of names fourteen days prior to the wedding date.

Favours
If you are supplying favours for your guests, please ensure they are delivered one
day prior to the wedding date and a clear indication given of which favours are for which guests.

Delivery
Along with the favours, table plan and place cards, if you are supplying any
additional items for us to put out onto the table, i.e. cameras, presents, guest book, these will
also need to be delivered one day prior to the wedding.

Linen
We can supply white linen, complimentary for the wedding breakfast and evening
reception. If you require coloured linen, we can order this in for you, however it will be at an
additional cost. For a quote on coloured linen, please call your wedding co-ordinator direct.

Menus
Our Head Chef has created wedding packages, which are especially designed to suit
all tastes, without compromising on choice. These are complimented by our drinks packages and can
also be tailored to suit your individual needs.

Timings
Your wedding co-ordinator will discuss with you in more detail the timings for the
day, however, please take the following into account when writing invitations and booking
entertainment:
Civil Ceremony approximately 30 minutes
Wedding Breakfast approximately 2 hours
Turnaround Period approximately 1 hour
(between the wedding breakfast and evening reception)

Entertainment
We have a hotel resident DJ who we can book on request at a rate of £220.
Alternatively you can book your own entertainment. (subject to terms and conditions).

Licensing Laws
The Hotel has a 24 hour license. Although the bar will normally close at 1am guests
can however, still purchase drinks after this time.

Accommodation
We can provisionally hold twenty rooms on an allocation basis, for your guests to
book direct with reservations at their convenience. |
