Savill Gardens
Location & Attractions|Savill GardensThe garden was designed and developed in the 1930's under the Royal Landscape project and began as a woodland garden with trees such as English oak, beech and chestnut taking prominence. Since those early days under its mentor Sir Eric Savill, the park has grown steadily and today its 35 acres are home to many species of beautiful local and exotic flora. Each season brings a new face to the Savill Gardens, during spring it is ablaze with the bright colours of daffodils, rhododendrons, magnolias and azaleas. The warmer summer months are heralded with a stark contrast in color and the pastel shades of the Golden Jubilee Garden. Autumn brings with it the orange and brown shades of leaves as well as the blooming of the exotic plants found at the New Zealand Garden. This wonderful public park is located close to hotels in Heathrow such as the Copthorne Hotel Slough Windsor and serves as an idyllic picnic spot on your vacation. |
