News|SECC presents CaledoniaThe Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow will host a celebration of the music of a nation next month. Glasgow hotel visitors will be able to see Caledonia at the SECC on June 12th. The performance is a showcase of part-time and full-time students from the Glasgow Academy of Musical Theatre Arts. Scotland's musical past and present is celebrated in the concert, which includes highlights from the original Scottish musical Shehallion – The Gathering. Another musical visitor to the SECC in June will be Ali Campbell, the famous frontman of UB40, whose show in Glasgow will be part of a full solo tour of the UK. The gig on June 18th will be in support of Campbell's second solo album Running Free, which featured duets with high-profile artists including Smokey Robinson, Katie Melua, Lemar and Beverley Knight. |
