News|Sleuth comes to the Theatre RoyalSleuth, one of theatre's best known and most popular thrillers, will be showing at the Glasgow Theatre Royal in May. The lead roles will be filled by Simon MacCorkindale, who many people will recognise from his appearances in BBC show Casualty, and Michael Praed, who has starred in US show Dynasty. When it was first launched, Sleuth ran for 12 years in London and New York, winning a Tony award for best play. It also inspired the popular film of the same name, starring Michael Caine and Laurence Olivier, which itself was remade recently with Caine filling Olivier's role and Jude Law playing the younger character. Sleuth tells the story of a young man who is invited to the mansion of a successful mystery writer, who also happens to be the husband of a woman the younger man is having an affair with. The pair try to outwit one another in a complicated game of cat-and-mouse with potentially fatal consequences. Glasgow hotel visitors can see the play at the Theatre Royal between May 26th and 31st. |
