News|Royal Scottish National Orchestra visit GlasgowPeople enjoying a stay in a Glasgow hotel in early January will be able to see in the new year in style with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO). On January 3rd the RSNO will hosts its 'New Year in Vienna' show at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. This performance will celebrate the history of Viennese music with renditions of a number of waltzes, polkas, mazurkas and arias. The programme will be led by pieces by the most famous proponents of the waltz - the Strauss family - including the Blue Danube. People staying in Glasgow hotels who make it to this event will also hear overtures and popular arias from Die Fledermaus, the Emperor Waltz and Tales from the Vienna Woods. of Handel's Messiah, conducted by Roy Goodman, on
