News|Kensington hosts Dollshouse FestivalThe Dollshouse Festival will once again come to the London borough of Kensington this year. First held in 1985, this event at Kensington Town Hall has developed into the premier exhibition of dolls' houses and miniatures from around the world. Kensington hotel visitors interested in attending this event to indulge their interest in dolls' houses or find out more about the intriguing hobby should visit the town hall on Hornton Street between May 16th and 18th. The festival has a number of faithful customers who travel to London every year from as far afield as Japan and the USA. Over 175 craftsmen come to the event to sell their creations, with 95 per cent of all the pieces included in the festival made by hand. People looking to accessorise their doll's house can find everything from gilt console tables to clothes pegs, while beginners can buy a kit to assemble themselves or a completed mansion with lights and furniture already installed. Visitors will also be able to attend a series of lectures on a variety of topics given by experts in the field, all of which are free of charge.
