The Royal College of Music (RCM) will be celebrating both music and words at one of the traditional events in its calendar next month.

Held in the Britten Theatre on May 2nd, the Concert of Music and Words will present visitors with a host of entertaining events and also raise money for good causes.

The evening, which is organised in partnership with the Ackroyd Trust, will feature music from some of the RCM's most talented performers as well as readings from renowned guests including Sir Michael Gambon, Pam St Clement and Jackie Smith-Wood.

Kensington hotel visitors will be able to enjoy a champagne reception before the main event, which will be included in the price of the ticket.

Another highlight of the RCM's forthcoming calendar of events is a performance by the junior department chamber orchestra at St Dunstan Parish Church on May 4th.

This evening will include recitals of Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik and Benjamin Britten's Now Sleeps the Crimson Petal.
