Further performances of Strauss' Metamorphosen and Michael Gordon's Gotham follow, depicting city life in post-was Germany and skyscraper New York while being set against stunning black and white film. Following an urban theme of rebirth following violent destruction, the piece celebrates the vitality and richness of the city in a venue that is itself a celebration of the possibilities of rebirth. The roundhouse was a Victorian steam engine repair shed that was restored to become one of London's premier live venues. This is a rare opportunity to catch the Aurora Orchestra, who recently won the RPS Ensemble Award. Aurora Orchestra – Love Song For The City is at the Roundhouse on February 25th.
