Back in 1991 the acclaimed film The Commitments hit cinema screens across the country, with movie-goers instantly falling for the incredible Irish band around which the film centred.

Following the lives of a group wannabe soul stars on the north side of Dublin, the film featured fabulous music as the characters grey lives were lit up by their adventure on the road to fame.

Based upon the Roddy Doyle book published four years prior to the film's release, the fictional band were fronted by the iconic Declan "Deco" Cuffe, whose giant size and equally large voice amazed audiences who could not believe he was just 15 when the film was made.

Now, celebrating the 21st birthday of the much-loved movie, The Stars of The Commitments are performing three shows in the UK, reaching a crescendo with a final St Patrick's Day show at The O2.

The Stars of The Commitments are playing at The O2 on March 17th, 2012. Tickets cost £51.25 or £55.25 including booking fees and the doors open at 6.30pm.
