News|Queen Elizabeth II through the lens of Cecil Beaton at London hotelsSir Cecil Beaton was integral to the creation of Queen Elizabeth II's public image, capturing Her Majesty and the rest of the royals with his camera for over 30 years. The acclaimed photographer was invited to shoot the Queen at many important events, notably her Coronation in 1953. Having left his archive of royal photographs to his loyal secretary Eileen Hose upon his death in 1980, Ms Hose in turn donated the images to the V&A's archive. Now, in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this year, some of Beaton's most celebrated photos are to go on display at the V&A in London, giving visitors a rare chance to see inside the lives of Britain's most famous family. Queen Elizabeth II by Cecil Beaton: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration runs at the V&A from February 8th until April 22nd. Tickets cost £6 for adults and £5 for concessions.
